The STREAM FESTIVAL transforms Linz’s city centre into an urban festival site: cosy open-air vibes, rousing live gigs and hot club nights that invite you to party and dance until the early hours of the morning: the festival offers a wide range of activities for all music fans and invites you to explore. The music programme will be complemented by talks and workshops on pop culture and the music industry.
Highlights on Friday include performances by Austrian-Iranian musician Sofie Royer, with a fascinating mix of haunting ballads, danceable pop and a pinch of nostalgia, as well as the concert by Night Tapes. The London trio combines cross-genre sounds, atmospheric soundscapes and profound reflections to create innovative dream pop and is currently one of the most sought-after UK exports. Friday will be rounded off by headliner SOHN on the FM4 stage.
Saturday at Pfarrplatz also offers a high-calibre line-up; after an afternoon of pop, post-punk and minimal synth, including the French eat-girls, the Austrian band PRESSYES kick off the evening with a good dose of sunny psychadelic pop. As co-headliners, the local heroes of the band Buntspecht will then delight the Linz audience with their Balkan jazz-pop, before Edwin Rosen, pop phenomenon of the NNDW – the New New German Wave, delivers the grand finale on the FM4 stage.
The CLUB programme is an essential part of STREAM. Highlights include the Viennese DJ collective Sugar Slip at the Daytime Club, the Danish-Swedish duo Lust For Youth at KAPU and Gerald vdH at Solaris.
On Saturday there will be dub sound from O.B.F X Iration Steppas in the Stadtwerkstatt and in the courtyard of the University of Art and Design a hosting of the infamous Linz DJ duo CAORLI under the title ‘Love Island’ with numerous guests.
