The exhibition, which was initiated by Julie Hayward and curated for kunsthaus muerz, shows objects and sculptures by a total of 18 female artists from two generations who, as the title implies, work primarily in the medium of sculpture and object art – from pioneers such as Marianne Maderna and Meina Schellander to young positions such as Angelika Loderer, Liesl Raff, Judith Fegerl and Sophie Hirsch. In consultation with the artists, Julie Hayward has selected one or two works that are representative of each artist’s oeuvre. Through dialogue with the artists, a fixed idea of an exhibition has evolved into an organically grown overall picture.
