The two artists Astrid Bechtold-Fox and Miye Lee bring spring into the gallery and whisk visitors away to nature in bloom. In her photographs and paintings, Astrid Bechtold-Fox offers a view as if through a microscope. Flowers and plants are magnified and blurred to create abstract, fictitious landscapes. In photography, this is achieved with analogue photography and blurring, transferred to large-format photographic paper. In painting, an abstract representation of nature is created using a special technique of numerous, fine colour glazes with acrylic on canvas. These paintings look like an echo or a spherical landscape viewed through a veil. Based on walks in nature, the Vienna-based artist Miye Lee depicts her impressions and sensations in a very reduced form. The luminous colour, usually applied very thinly, creates traces and free structures. Nature is depicted in abstract, timeless and poetic ornamental forms.
