People produce waste / rubbish. And the mountains grow and grow towards the sky. However, waste is not just waste; it is a matter of definition. For whom, what is a commodity or waste and for how long is a flexible concept. The exhibition WASTE ART STYRIA is a continuation and Styrian regionalisation of the touring exhibition WASTE ART, which was developed by Ina Loitzl and has already had venues throughout Austria and internationally. The works deal with recycling, upcycling, zero waste and all the rubbish that you might produce yourself.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be a workshop on waste and art with Max Gansberger, an upcycling workshop with Bis es mir vom Leibe fällt (Lisa D and Wilfried Prantner) and AHS Reininghaus and a discussion on the topic of the circular economy in art and in life.
