Active debate and dialogue are the basis on which democratic coexistence is constantly redefined. We live democracy every day – in the town hall, in companies, clubs, schools and families. Basic and human rights and the constitution provide us with a robust foundation. Through our actions, however, democracy is constantly on the move. Time and again, it also reaches its limits and requires joint reflection, prudence and critical thought. The exhibition Demokratie, heast!, curated by Catalin Betz and Angela Fink, combines current discourse with the history of the city of Graz; it offers information and opportunities to share one’s own opinions and experiences; it provides impulses to think about democracy and opens up space for questions.
