The artist and researcher Marie-Andrée Pellerin explores language, acoustic territories and science fiction literature, moving away from speculative methods. After a stay in the Moroccan desert in spring 2024, the wind – as a visual and acoustic phenomenon – became the focus of her work. The experience of extreme weather phenomena characterises her current installations, object works, videos and performances, which increasingly deal with the chaotic nature of the wind and the myth of a controllable environment. At Bildraum Studio, Pellerin plans to develop the performance Moderate Chaos, which combines sound, choreographic and visual elements to create a fictional weather report. The idea was born in the windy context of the desert, and Marie-Andrée Pellerin expands her examination of the wind to include geopolitical, mythological and cultural elements.
