With the exhibition Extroverted Images, FOTOHOF presents five international positions that are characterised by an interplay between photography and sculptural-installative approaches. In addition to overcoming two-dimensionality, appropriating the physical exhibition space and dealing with the materiality of the images, the exhibited works thematise the public, cultural and socio-technical spaces of our time in which digital photography and its political subtexts circulate. The artists Billie Clarken, Nikita Diakur, Clemens Fischer, Alex Grein and Lucas Leffler literally turn, deform and melt the images, thereby not only expanding photography artistically and medially, but also opening up additional perspectives on concepts of image and work in contemporary art production and the media landscape.
