The exhibition at the Künstlerhaus provides a diverse insight into the artistic work of Hannes Mlenek. Large-format paintings and drawings from Werner Trenker’s collection enter into dialogue with the Medusa project, which the artist realised in collaboration with the performance artist and choreographer Bert Gstettner at the Brotfabrik-Expedithalle Vienna, the Odeon Theater Vienna and the Ailey Citigroup Theater New York (2015-2018).
Hannes Mlenek is a painter and draughtsman and a master of his trade. The line is the consistent stylistic device of his pictorial creations, the human body the central theme.
