When you look at Gerald Zugmann’s photographs, you get the impression that you are walking past rows of houses and architecture, through forests and landscapes, repeatedly stopped by interiors, models, sculptures and masks, faces that you encounter along the way. Gerald Zugmann is an architectural photographer, he has spent a lifetime photographing buildings, those of many architects, of Coop Himmel b(l)au over three decades, but also of many others from Austria, Italy and America. Over a period of more than forty years and through the spaces, cities and landscapes, Gerald Zugmann has placed his camera in the light of the built and the made or, quite demiurgically, placed things themselves in the light.
