The Belvedere 21 is honouring Hans Haacke, the legend of political conceptual art, with a comprehensive retrospective. As a founding figure of artistic institutional critique, Haacke redefined the relationship between art and society and influenced subsequent generations of artists. In his highly topical work, the German-American artist insists on the social relevance of art and its transformative potential. The exhibition, curated by Luisa Ziaja, is being shown in cooperation with the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt.
