Touch Nature presents international artists who take a stand on the devastating political, economic, ecological and humanitarian effects of the Anthropocene. It becomes clear that artists not only document grievances and formulate resistance, but also create utopias. The exhibition curated by Sabine Fellner is based on the exhibition series of the same name, which was shown in a total of 12 Austrian cultural forums in Europe and the USA from 2021 to 2024 and in which Austrian artists entered into a creative dialogue with artists from the respective host country. The show at Lentos summarises this exhibition series, adds significant international positions to it and presents a multinational overview of the current artistic debate on the climate crisis and environmental destruction with around 100 artists. It is in the spirit of Alexander von Humboldt, a pioneer of ecological thinking, climatology and oceanography, who wrote to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1810: ‘Nature must be felt.’
