until 06.01.2025

The exhibition ‘was ist’ by sculptor and draughtsman Albrecht Zauner focuses on his latest works, including the sculpture ‘Primrose’, a 3-metre-high and approximately 4-tonne concrete casting covered with car paint in the original yellow colour of a Jaguar E-Type. This sculpture will be on display in the roundabout in front of the Künstlerhaus. The sculpture ‘Sein’, an approx. 1.2 metre high Mellau pebble limestone, which refers to the title of his exhibition ‘was ist’, will be on display on the ground floor of the Palais, as will the work ‘Connected’, an erratic block made of Passeier marble. Various reliefs made of pebble limestone, in which the artist experiments with colours, and drawings up to 3 metres high as well as various smaller sculptures and a video (St John’s Church, 2015) complete the exhibition. Albrecht Zauner repeatedly places the human body at the centre of his art. Condensation, contraction play a role here, perception, transcendence, gravity and lightness play an essential role.
