In his exhibition, the Vorarlberg-based artist Bardh-I rafet Jonuzi-T deals intensively with colour theories and the combination of light and pigment colours. In doing so, he draws on scientific principles such as Thomas Young’s three-colour theory. This was later developed further by the physicist J. C. Maxwell, who proved the importance of the three primary colours for human vision and thus created the basis for modern colour display systems. The artist uses this knowledge as a starting point for his artistic experiments, in which he combines the primary colours in a mathematical way. For his current series of works, Bardh-I rafet Jonuzi-T uses plastic glass discs on which he applies texts with great precision in three different colour systems freehand and with a line width of 0.01-0.05 mm (drawing ink by Rohrer & Klingner). Bardh-I rafet Jonuzi-T applies each colour with around 260 strokes, which lends the series great depth and evokes associations with cosmic landscapes.
