The Slovenian publishing house The Angry Bat is at the centre of the sixth edition of the exhibition series ‘Publishers as Guests’. The publication programme of publisher and photographer Matej Sitar has so far included around fourteen limited edition photo books, supplemented by high-quality editions. Starting with his own book projects, publication co-operations were subsequently realised, for example ‘Heroes’ by Finnish photographer Karoliina Paatos, a long-term documentary about the International Gay Rodeo Association in the USA, the conceptual photo book ‘Searching for the Old Bearded Fisherman’ by Nina Weymann or the artistic approach to Tito’s state yacht ‘Galeb’ by Matija Brumen. The photographer himself interprets Matej Sitar’s most recently published book ‘The Abyss’ as a response to current political events and an ambiguous feeling for the present time.
