With A Glance at Pants, the Weltmuseum Wien is putting the spotlight on a part of our wardrobe that everyone knows intimately and yet is usually overshadowed by other clothing. The small special presentation in the participatory space zam juxtaposes trousers from the museum’s collections with the latest creations: In collaboration with young creatives from the three traditional Viennese fashion schools Herbststraße, Hetzendorf and Michelbeuern, this item of clothing is explored and staged. A colourful array of educational offers and hands-on activities will encourage visitors of all ages to get involved and hopefully fuel the anticipation of many more trousers – because A Glance at Pants sees itself as a hors d’œuvre for the major special exhibition at the Weltmuseum Wien 2025.
