Galerie Z is bringing this year’s exhibition year to a close with a sculptural exhibition featuring works by Styrian-born Kurt Spitaler. His sculptor colleague Franziska Stiegholzer, in her function as curator, brings the tireless experimenter to Hard with the show ‘un_konventionell’. He skilfully plays with the clear categorisation and recognition value of the objects used, which anyone can buy in a DIY store, for example. On the one hand, he awakens a cosy confidence in the viewer, on the other hand, he prepares the ground for uncertainty with his special methods. He creates new realities by literally sewing together simple wooden boards, tying up pots, lashing down tubs or wrapping parts of armchairs and linking coat racks together.
