Buchner’s approach to the processes within nature is a poetic one. The same is true of his ongoing research into technologies for exploring nature. Research trips and research methods as well as equipment (conveyor belts, digging equipment, drilling devices or leaching plants) are examined by the artist and placed in subjective contexts. Buchner does not proceed rationalistically like a technician. Rather, it is the mythical-archaic aspects that Buchner repeatedly emphasizes and compares interculturally In the exhibition, for example, the artist focusses on salt production. The artist observes the growth and transformation processes that take place inside the mountain very closely, makes sketches and builds models. However, the equipment, which is not dissimilar to scientific models, can be attributed to individual and highly subjective investigations.
