The InTaKT Festival is an inclusive dance, culture and theatre festival created by and for people with disabilities. Over five days, the festival sets an important example for inclusion in society The programme includes dance, theatre, film and music. There is also a programme for children. And together with the group Slam Kollektiv, the festival is hosting an inclusive poetry slam for the first time. Inclusive art and culture will be presented at many venues in Graz, including the Graz Museum, the Graz Academy, the theatre on Ortweinplatz and Salon Stolz. There is also a Styrian tour for primary schools with pantomime Sabine Wallner. This year, too, a whole team of experts from various disabilities will be advising on inclusion. There are live translations into Austrian sign language, videos are subtitled and people with hearing and visual impairments can take part. InTaKT endeavours to use simple language in all printed materials and online content. In this way, the festival directors, Lina Hölscher and Christoph Kreinbucher-Bekerle, and the InTaKT team want to create encounters between people with and without disabilities and enable everyone to participate in art and culture on an equal footing. The opening is a poetry slam with people with and without disabilities. At a poetry slam, the participants perform texts they have written themselves. In the run-up to the event, texts on the topic of ‘living together’ were developed together with the Slam Kollektiv group.
