Since it was founded 70 years ago, the Grafische Werkstatt has always had to fulfil different requirements: a commercial production site for print editions – an important economic backbone for artists, a concentrated workspace, a playground for experiments, a place for training, a materials store, an atmospheric space for mediation … many of these things at the same time. This is how it has grown, always in line with the demands and this is how it is: never quite finished, never quite perfect, constantly expandable, always in dialogue with the artists involved. It has also established itself as an internationally recognized workshop in cooperation with partner institutions. It is celebrating its anniversary with an extensive programme and a constantly changing exhibition. The show at the Galerie Kunst im Traklhaus begins in an almost classical way, showing special exhibits from the collection of the last 30 years. The presentation changes on a weekly basis and combines works that represent all the workshop’s fields of activity. Framed by lectures on the past and future of printmaking, visitors can get a changing picture of the extensive activities of this institution and its artists.

08 October–25 October ‘Archive one’ Works by (almost) everyone. Prints from the collection since 1995, with advertising columns by Jöran C.W. Möller and Tim Paschedag.
29 October–14 November Bild und Text Extra ediert: freshly printed series for the anniversary Six invited artists (Teresa Präauer & Erich Gruber, Daniela Kasperer & Sophia Süßmilch and Erwin Einzinger & Martin Gredler) pair up and animate the space between text and image. Inspiration, irritation and the staging of word and image are sensually staged.
19 November–07 December ‘Archive one plus’ Works from the collection with a personal focus Hermann Kremsmayer, Peter Baldinger, Rudolf Hradil, Peter Pongratz, Ernst Skricka, Margit Strobl, Johann Weyringer, Konrad Winter, Siegfried Zaworka and a few more …
