In the exhibition ‘A collective journey to climate justice: learning together, acting together’, complex relationships between historical, social and economic causes of the injustices that have grown up and are closely linked to ecological developments will be made visible and tangible through contemporary artistic practices. Themes such as criticism of the hierarchical relationship between humans and nature; feminist* aspects and the ongoing colonial exploitation of humans, plants, animals and other planetary beings will be incorporated, as will indigenous knowledge from communities of ‘Abya Yala’ (pre-colonial name for America). Time here is related to the cycles of nature and the heritage of our ancestors, breaking with the linearity of our understanding of time. In view of the size of the subject area, which manifests itself globally and at the same time can be felt and experienced here and now in Austria, collaborative methods are used in particular, which focus on the transfer and exchange of knowledge in the sense of collective learning with all senses and thus establish a connection between the loss of biodiversity and social injustices.
