Autumn time is :alpenarte time; every year, the festival invites you to enjoy the musical delights of top regional and international talent in combination with visual arts and education. This year, for the first time over four days, artistic director Matthias Honeck is extending the successful festival and inviting guests to the provincial capital for the opening event. The Martin brothers open the concert programme with a ‘special’ in the Alter Landtagssaal in Bregenz. The Grand Concert in the Angelika Kauffmann Saal will feature the two award-winning young stars María Dueñas (violin) and Alexander Malofeev (piano). Finally, the legendary wind ensemble ‘Federspiel’ celebrates its 20th anniversary with a best-of programme and shares its musical knowledge in workshops. The festival rounds off its educational mission with programmes for schools and workshops. ‘We want to establish :alpenarte as a positive point of contact with music in general and are constantly expanding our programme to this end,’ explains Honeck. School visits by ‘Duo Minerva’ or school concerts in the Angelika Kauffmann Saal with ‘TrioColores’ offer young people the opportunity to experience music of the highest quality up close. In workshops with ‘Federspiel’, Evelyn Fink-Mennel and the trumpeter Christoph Moschberger, young people from Vorarlberg and other interested parties can learn from the best. The :alpenarte is open to all age groups; young people up to the age of 14 have free admission to the concerts.
