Brazilian artist Rodrigo Braga uses various artistic means of expression such as performance, sculpture, video, photography, graphics and painting to explore the complex and often contradictory relationships between people and their environment. In the expansive installation that Rodrigo Braga has designed especially for this space, he draws on works from his ‘Ponto Zero’ (Zero Point) series, which he has been working on since 2018. He complements videos, photographs and sculptures with textile works, object arrangements and wall drawings created on site. Among other things, Braga uses vegetable charcoal and limestone, archaic materials that were formed hundreds of millions of years ago. The black and white colours of the materials stand for the mutually dependent duality – growth and transience, inner life and the outside world, creation and destruction. These materials are repeatedly combined in the works and convey the constant tension and interaction of opposing and interdependent forces.
