The double exhibition interweaves parallel strands of two artistic research projects that deal with subjective, image-based approaches to migration and memory in a joint spatial installation. Based on the private photo archive of her father, who lived in Prague as a Portuguese student between 1978 and 1987, Ana de Almeida examines the reflection of opposing revolutionary phases: the failed Prague Spring of 1968, the Carnation Revolution of 1974 and the emerging Velvet Revolution of 1989. The artist transforms historical image material into sculptural display elements that run through the space like a course. In her central video installation On Another Note (2024), Takriti draws on the artistic legacy and photo album of her grandmother, who lived in Kuwait in the 1960s as a teacher and textile artist, as she does in her collages and textile prints. Using the example of her family history, which was characterised by concerns about Palestinian statelessness, she has a look at the transnational entanglements of the region.
