In her work, Serbian-born Aleksandra Domanović focuses on the intersections between technology, history and culture and examines how these shape our understanding of identity and contemporary society. The exhibition brings together sculptures, videos, prints, photography and digital media from the last eighteen years. With over forty works, including new commissions, it highlights the development of a playful yet critical practice that is characterized by information culture in the post-internet age. This is the first exhibition of Domanović’s work in Austria and the largest presentation of her work to date. The exhibition is accompanied by the first monograph on Aleksandra Domanović’s work. The book contains an in-depth interview with the artist by Michelle Cotton, Artistic Director of Kunsthalle Wien, as well as essays by curator Carson Chan, curator and author Caitlin Jones, editor and writer Pablo Larios and critic and essayist Marcel Štefančič.
