The theatre at Saumarkt will also be the venue for the Schallwende festival in 2024. Two renowned Vorarlberg musicians and composers, Dietmar Kirchner and Wolfgang W. Lindner, are responsible for the Schallwende portrait concerts: the focus is on Vorarlberg composers who are active in the field of new music. Some of the works presented are world premieres. Internationality and networking are also part of the festival’s mission. Music education is of particular importance in this context. The aim of ARGE-Schallwende is to familiarise children and young people with new music and to promote composers and ensembles working in this field. The festival also aims to give space to various facets of sacred, spiritually orientated new music. With works by the composers Nikolaus Brass, Flora Geißelbrecht, Wolfgang W. Lindner, Martin Skamletz and Herbert Willi.
