Mixed-media artist Justin Aversano combines conventional art media such as photography with cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain and AI. In his first series “Every Day is a Gift”, he took Polaroid photos of people celebrating their birthdays every day for a year. The series “Cognition” shows 365 surreal collages with symbolic objects and is a tribute to his late mother. Aversano’s well-known series “Twin Flames” consists of portraits of 100 pairs of twins and honours his fraternal twin sister. His latest project “Smoke and Mirrors” comprises 78 portraits in a tarot frame, celebrating the healers, artists and mystics of our world. The power of his portraits lies in their authenticity and their ability to capture the essence of each person. The exhibition aims to redefine the concept of the retrospective by changing the way viewers perceive exhibitions while offering a comprehensive insight into the development of the artist’s work since his beginnings.
