The exhibition “Is this repair?” is based on an analytical examination of the history of medicine, the development of medical instruments and diagnostic technologies. It thematizes the tension between the attempt to “repair” and the fragility of human existence. Iris Dittler’s interdisciplinary installations and performances are created at the interface between contemporary dance and visual art. At the centre of her work is a fundamental examination of our physical and psychological constitution. In Bildraum Bodensee, sculptural objects, drawings and performative activations invite us to explore our own physical space and to scrutinize our subjective perception and understanding of the body.
