In his work, Lior Gal questions traditional notions of belonging and geographical identity – primarily through the medium of photography. He also aims to expand the cultural and aesthetic possibilities of concepts such as space and silence as visual components. His images interweave with “remnants” of different places and convey the feeling of roaming through foreign landscapes and times.
As part of his residency at Bildraum Studio, he is collaborating with a musician living in Vienna to transform a large-format photographic work into a musical/mute instrument. This also transforms the studio space into a silent concert hall, opening up new artistic dimensions.
