The space set up by Holger Lang can only be animated and experienced for a short time. A field of tension is opened up between the conceptual positions of flow and home, in which opposites and contradictions are set in relation to each other. The stable, personal, furnished and private home, which is kept away from the public eye, is juxtaposed with the constantly changing, unstable, exposed flow, which is exposed to the influences of the outside world, in such a way that the boundaries between them can hardly be perceived.
The exhibition also functions as a stage and a film set. All changes, all shifts and the ongoing conversions are recorded throughout. Visitors become actors and play a role in front of the spatial puzzle, like extras in the theatre. In addition, sometimes active “residents” also appear, filling this space like a flat with their own ideas and needs for a certain period of time. The exhibition is a temporary “home” that is exhibited and remains a private space in which one can/may be different than in public.
