When a group exhibition entitled “Wuthering Tales of Desires” is organised, the first question that arises is what the “desires” are, what wishes and desires are involved. But even more: what is this “wuthering” all about?
The works shown at “Wuthering Tales of Desires” are not to be understood as reactions to a predetermined theme. Rather, the exhibition is the manifestation of an already omnipresent vibration. The quite diffuse nature of the “wuthering” points to a (basic) mood, a sound, a rumbling in the background, not to speak of feelings/emotions. In this way, the exhibition also addresses the blind spots of overly elaborate (discursively secured) concepts.
