The state of Vorarlberg has been purchasing contemporary art since 1974 as a continuous expansion and supplement to its collection. A team of purchasers, currently art historian Andrea Fink and curator Isabella Marte, changes every three years and is responsible for the acquisitions. Since 2017, the diverse additions to the collection, which include first-time acquisitions by young artists as well as key works by established artists, have been presented to the public in a complete and timely exhibition in a cooperation between allerArt Bludenz, vorarlberg museum and the state’s Department of Culture. The current show, which reflects the lively contemporary art scene in the province, features works by 13 artists and one female artist duo.
