The Speedshow series is an exhibition format of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, curated by the Digital Art class in cooperation with the MuseumsQuartier. The exhibition contributions were developed in the course of a seminar by Melissa Logan (Chicks on Speed). Based on the experimental writings of Pauline Oliveros, audiovisual interpretations of the horse were created, each of which refers to its symbolic resonance and cultural significance. Since ancient civilizations, horses have served as powerful symbols of strength, freedom and control. At the site of the former stables, Horse Power invites us to think critically about the ways in which we utilize and exploit the power of the horse, both literally and figuratively, by exploring themes of domination, mobility and coexistence. With works by: Margo Dubovska, Yasemin Duru, San Jang, Sebastian Pfeifhofer, Rage and Moritz Wunderwald.
