With his conceptual, partly interactive and often blockchain-based works as well as generative series, websites, chatbots and graphic designs, Steve Pikelny aka. steviep skilfully negotiates current social phenomena.
The title of the exhibition DYOR / NFA, two acronyms used in the crypto and financial world, points to the need for thorough research and the personal responsibility of the investor, but can also be used in the context of misinformation and media manipulation to spread uncertainty and doubt.
Pikelny’s first solo museum exhibition, curated by Julia Staudach, focusses on a selection of works that play with the idea of the value of money and the absurdity of finding value in the crypto market.
