27 current feature and documentary films from 10 Latin American countries offer new perspectives, exciting insights and critical approaches. The focus country of this festival edition is Mexico, with the opening film RADICAL by Christopher Zalla. The moving film about a committed teacher in northern Mexico who gives his pupils new hope with unconventional teaching methods will celebrate its Austrian premiere at the festival.
For the first time, a Youth Jury Prize will also be awarded during the festival. In cooperation with the development NGO Südwind, film enthusiasts between the ages of 15 and 20 have the opportunity to vote for the best film in the “Youth” category. The award is endowed with € 1,000.
The programme also focuses on the topics of “resistance” and “indigenous living environments”.
