In 2024, the international animated film festival Tricky Women/Tricky Realities will once again bring animated films by women and/or genderqueer artists to the big screen.
Around 160 short animated films in the competition and special programmes invite you to engage with multi-layered, social, political and cultural worlds of experience and open your eyes to new possibilities. With SULTANA’S DREAM and JOHNNY & ME – A TIME TRAVEL WITH JOHN HEARTFIELD, two long animated films are also celebrating their Austrian premieres.
A large part of the film programme can also be viewed online on the festival’s own platform. For the first time, a separate competition category will be dedicated to works from the field of virtual and augmented reality.
