After weeks, often months on the run, people arrive hungry and freezing at the Austrian-Slovenian border in Spielfeld. Help then comes mainly from civil society, people show solidarity, help with food, clothing, information and much more. 2015, 2022: patterns and images seem to repeat themselves – and yet they are completely different.
Alexander Danner and David Kranzelbinder documented the events on the ground independently of each other, often at the same time. Their different approaches to humanitarian border experiences are brought together, juxtaposed and bring people from the border into focus.
