Perspective and proportion, light and shadow are essential parameters of the photographic world, a subjective visual world. The ‘raum’ provides an insight into this pictorial world, which – starting in the middle of the 20th century – emerged in the photographic environment of Kees and Kraus.
In the off_gallery, the focus is on Erich Kees’ and Elisabeth Kraus’ exploration of urban and non-urban, private and public spaces. Both follow human traces and artefacts in their relationship to built space and also illuminate the interplay between the built and the vegetation.
