100 Poems by Feldbach-born Heribert Friedl originally emerged from a moment of existential grief. The poems, written in English and usually consisting of just one word, become touching “obituaries” into a world of which one cannot know whether it exists.
The words painted on small MDF panels point to a different time, but also to a different gender and religious order. They are silent images, icons of longing and consolation, presented at KULTUM at Christmas and the turn of the year.
The booklet with the “100 Poems” by Heribert Friedl, which will be published to accompany the exhibition, will also translate these written icons into the medium of a “prayer book”
