The ambivalence of being human is reflected in the artist’s ceramic works and drawings, which on the one hand can be viewed seriously but also with a twinkle in the eye. Sometimes something enigmatic remains in the objects, which tell of heart and brain, of humanity and inhumanity, of contradictions and dystopian images. In the five rooms of the Villa Claudia, Ewald Hotz positions five different approaches to his artistic work.
