It is a familiar feeling: in times of countless crises, which one encounters unchecked in the daily flood of information, there is despair at not being able to change anything about the course of the world and its burning problems.
The FORUM STADTPARK, which declared itself a “Fortress of Powerlessness” in 2023, is now presenting some options for action as part of the exhibition No hope No fear.
While the “Fainting Monument” by artist Birke Gorm encourages reflection, the “Archive for Fainting” shares the experiences and individual strategies of activists from various fields.
A “Left wing Prepperkeller” humorously plays with the motif of entrenchment in the face of the threat of total societal damage, while in the “Hotel Bellevue” guests deal nightly with the question of what we actually need as a society in order not to end up in a future consisting of bunkers and fortresses.
The “Café Endzeit” series of events, on the other hand, takes an almost wistful look at withering presences and disarranged futures. The “Ohnmachts-Zine” (Fainting Zine), presented on 20 January, ultimately summarises strategies for dealing with the situation and thus builds a bridge from theory to action.
