Interested in art and culture? Salzburg galleries and exhibition spaces present a colorful program under the motto WE ARE OPEN – from free art walks, talks with artists, to concerts and performances.
At the opening on Wednesday, May 3rd, the GALLERY WEEK_END begins with the guest exhibition of the International Summer Academy in the Art Gallery in the Traklhaus. The exhibition by the Argentine artist Ad Minoliti is on view – a colourful, playfully light-hearted show with a wide range of references.
This year is a special event, as the Summer Academy, founded by Oskar Kokoschka in 1953 as the “School of Seeing”, is celebrating its 70th anniversary. With the 9 ART WALKS you can visit the exhibition locations involved in the program and experience art up close in encounters and in conversations with the gallery owners.
The tours are led by Victoria Fahrengruber (art educator Museum der Moderne Salzburg), Ingrid Hyra (freelance art and culture educator) and Paula Marschalek (art historian and cultural manager Vienna). Tour 9 on Saturday May 6th at 3pm will be held in English.
