The exhibition by the Austrian artist Kay Walkowiak takes up global social conflicts fueled by climate change, pandemics and capitalism and invites visitors to think about alternative ways of dealing with the world and fellow human beings.
The works question the foundations of the liberal-capitalist world and are based on the idea of bringing utopias into the present.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the film “Neon Ghost”, produced with the Thai performance artist Kage Mulvilai, in which he explores abandoned or derelict places that are central to capitalist societies – such as shopping malls, cinemas or old airplanes – and thus to thinking about alternatives for the inspires future.
