The photographic works deal with decay and construction – with change. The artist Peter Möstl brings in his hometown Mürzzuschlag, its surroundings, the Kunsthaus itself and finally his own history.
The exhibition spans from Peter Möstl’s photographic beginnings in Graz to the documentation of construction work in Mürzzuschlag and far into the past to stone engravings that he photographed on his journey through the Air Mountains in Niger. Contrasted with this, an accumulation of boulders on the Pretul reminds of lost, mysterious cultures.
“At a time when it feels like no stone is left unturned, I point to the more distant and recent past in order to perhaps see the present more clearly.“ (Peter Möstl)
