The video series “Automorph” by the Viennese artist duo lichterloh consists of generative videos that deal with questions of (self-)awareness, change and manipulation. A random algorithm creates natural-looking structures that change in real time. These structures form an aesthetic and technical bridge to the installation “Anna.drei” in the historic staircase of the Francisco Carolinum as part of the exhibition “Meta.space – Raumvisionen”.
The Viennese artist duo lichterloh dedicates their research-based work to experiments with digital technology. Based on their primary tools of space, light and transformation, they create projects for stages and exhibition spaces.
The sounds for the Automorph series are from ATEQ/Soundcloud.
In addition to the physical exhibition, the virtual exhibition space of the Digital Francisco Carolinum is used to deepen the view of the artists’ work and to give more space to aspects of their work.
