The New Art & Music Ensemble Salzburg NAMES, sees itself as a democratic collective. In its participatory artistic practice, it explores the playful and concepts of game theory in the field of tension between digital art and contemporary music.
Together with the multimedia artist and researcher Pedro González, the group is designing an interactive game experiment in which the audience has the opportunity to play three games together with the musicians and thus become part of the performance themselves.
Both a digital avatar and a human master of ceremonies guide the audience through the fifty-minute piece. This collective experience seeks to explore the competitive, collaborative and personal aspects of play as well as aspects of collective caring through sound and performance.
