feminism! A word that many people snub, that is hotly debated, that is ignored, repressed and defended – in short: a term that polarises. The exhibition sees itself as a discursive contribution to this socio-political topic, which is a topic in art, in social media, but also at the latest with the advent of Binnen‑I, asterisks, colons and terms such as “quota woman”, “mansplaining”, “Femicide”, LGBTQIA+ and #metoo has become conspicuous in the general public.
Current artistic positions as well as documentation of local feminist actions or performances from the last 70 years raise questions about equality, role attributions and their social consequences.
