“I never want to arrive”: Man is on the run from himself. At least that’s how Friedrich Nietzsche interprets man’s haste. With this sentence, the Graz artist Petra Sterry designed a permanent intervention at the Viktor Kaplan hydroelectric power station at the Kunsthaus Muerz.
Her work makes the sentence I NEVER WANT TO ARRIVE readable in many directions. On the building on the riverbench, it can also be read as a metaphor for “being in the flow of life”. In the sense of the Confucian thought “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”
