The whole city in a jazzy mood: the Jazz & The City festival is once again living up Salzburg’s old town this autumn with an extensive program with free admission.
The lineup ranges from the saxophone & piano duo Daniel Erdmann & Aki Takase to the Insomnia Brass Band and the New Zealand-Congolese jazz & fusion percussionist Myele Manzanza with his trio.
The Upper Austrian saxophonist Gerald Preinfalk is also represented in the program, as is the Dutch saxophonist and composer Marike van Dijk.
In the programs of the political jazz ensemble “Kuhle Wampe”, pointed comments on current affairs meet opulent brass sections. And the British avant-garde jazz trio Mammal Hands combines jazz, electronic music and world music into dynamic sounds.
