Art from the studios of Upper Austrian social institutions.
The curators Kristiane Petersmann and Gabriele Spindler, in cooperation with Ateliers of Upper Austrian social institutions, have selected an exhibition designed by Moritz Nitsche with 180 works by artists with disabilities for the Schlossmuseum Linz.
The exhibition SICHT:WECHSEL expands the idea of the annual inclusive culture festival sicht:wechsel in Linz to the field of visual arts.
The varied exhibition course leads through five rooms of the Schlossmuseum Linz and is divided into large thematic groups: “Rhythm/Form”, “Narrative/Subject”, “Script/Image/Text”, “Repetition/Composition” and “Figure/Form/Subject”.
By tracking down connecting and contrasting elements in the different artistic approaches, the exhibition conveys the astonishing variety and breadth of artistic creation in this field. The meticulousness and richness of detail are just as impressive as the spontaneity and dynamism of the work.
From the Arcus Social Network Haslach to CARITAS KUNST St. Pius to the KunstRaum Goethestraße xtd, a dozen studios and facilities from Upper Austria for people with disabilities have participated.
The works range from the fantastic worlds of Christian Öllinger, which reveal influence of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, through finely divided color rhythms by Andreas Krötzl to, for example, graphic works by Anita Baier or Ernst Schmid.
