When war and violence reign, there is often nothing left in the head but white noise. In the exhibition “Can you see what I see”, the Lentos Kunstmuseum deals with the effects of war and destruction on our view of the world.
Five Ukrainian artists react to the current circumstances with their works. Anastasiya Yarovenkowho has been living in Vienna in Vienna for several years is one of them. With her works, Yarovenko questions the self-evident and everyday that is no longer valid in times of war. How do you answer the banal question “Hello, how are you?” in times when foreign aggressors are bombing your own homeland, acquaintances or family members are missing and women are being raped.
“Can you see what I see” is an artistic emergency intervention by the Lentos Kunstmuseum that confronts us with video works, films and images with a situation in Europe that we have not thought possible for decades.
